What is Open?
Open Magazine is an annual student-produced literary magazine from Rice University. Open aims to promote a healthy and informed attitude toward sex by presenting a wide range of perspectives on the interplay of sex and culture through articles, editorials, interviews, poems, short story, photos and art. The Rice undergraduate staff collaborates with writers and artists from Rice and beyond to bring together a highly diverse and talented group of contributors. By striking a balance between factual and artistic, playful and serious, we hope to create an aesthetically provocative as well as mentally stimulating magazine.
Sexuality is too important in today’s culture and politics to not talk honestly about it– it’s time to open up.
